Don Francisco Becomes Tío Francisco
After more than 30 years, the company’s iconic Don Francisco brand will transition this fall to a new name – Tío Francisco.
“The new brand name will allow us to pursue growth opportunities that were once off-limits under the current name,” said family member and Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Tomas Rizo.
Rest assured, the company will continue to use the same traditional techniques and old-world recipes the family has held for generations.
Rizo says, “I assure you this—along with the quality and freshness of our cheese, our commitment to excellent service will not change—only the brand name.”
Since 1990, the Don Francisco brand has been synonymous with Rizo Lopez Foods, Inc., a family-owned business based in Modesto, California.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s “Don” or “Tío” when you see the face of my grandfather on our packaging, you know you’re getting the best quality and truest flavor in every bite,” Rizo said. “We’re preserving traditions and carrying them into the future with confidence for generations of loyal consumers.”
Under the Tío Francisco brand, the company can now take full advantage of just about every opportunity that knocks on the door of its 130,000-square-foot facility.
