Bean and Queso Panela Pupusas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups corn flour
  • 1 ½ cups cold water
  • 2 tsp salt

Filling

  • ½ cup Tío Francisco Queso Panela
  • ½ cup refried beans
  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the corn flour and salt, then add the water. Using your hands mix until the dough has a firm consistency.
  2. Take a small golf-sized portion of dough and roll into a ball, then flatten into an even round.
  3. Fill the dough round with 1 ½ tsp refried beans and 1 ½ tsp of Tío Francisco Queso Panela. Fold the dough over the filling until it’s sealed. Then pat until it is flat.
  4. Heat a large pan or griddle over medium heat. Brush with oil, then place 2-3 pupusas on the pan and cook until golden-brown on each side.
